catamaran dan picCaptain "Catamaran" Dan welcomes you to the bayous of the East Pearl River on the Louisiana/Mississippi border.  With a variety of habitat on the river and bayous, shorebirds, wading birds, neotropical songbird migrants and a host of year-round resident waterfowl can be found here.  The marshes provide critical spawning and nursery habitat for a number of fresh and saltwater species. 

I encourage you to explore all that nature has to offer by Hobie kayak or the solar-powered catamaran "Shamrocket".  We promise you a great time that you will never forget.  

Perhaps you'd like to spend some time in the sun on the Southern Sandbar of the East Pearl River.  We'll take you and bring you back to where you parked!

Option 1: Paddle, Pedal or Sail  Enjoy your time on the bayous and/or the East Pearl River with a Hobie kayak where you have the option to paddle, pedal and sail - you decide how you want your kayak set upL, and all with ZERO CARBON FOOTPRINT!  With the Mirage Drive system, you can cover a lot of water in a short period of time.

With the pedals, you ca20160808_080435n set your rudder and then move you over the water at a speed that you're comfortable with.  Make yourself comfortable with the adjustable backrest and then set your rudder.  Once done, you'll have both hands free for photography, a meal or cool beverage, meditating, and sight-seeing - whatever strikes your fancy.

Option 2: How about a fun-filled party or sunset "booze cruise" on the solar-powered Shamrocket!  The "Shamrocket" is a 17' Hobie Getaway catamaran that has been converted into the ultimate small gThe Party boat Shamrocketroup party and cruiser that has ZERO CARBON FOOTPRINT!  There is plenty of room for a group of six to stretch out, relax and get very close to the water.

You will want to bring your camera as you can get within inches of the water and photograph all that nature has to offer on the bayous of the East Pearl River, right on the  Mississippi and Louisiana border, just east of Slidell, LA.   With a variety of habitat on the refuge, shorebirds, wading birds, neotropical songbird migrants and a host of year-round resident waterfowl can be found here.  Deer, rabbit, mink, otter, raccoon, muskrat, and nutria all make their home here, and the marshes provide critical spawning and nursery habitat for a number of fresh and saltwater species. 

With the ability to position both the propeller and the rudders for shallow-water cruising, the Shamrocket goes where most boats don't even think of going.  Music and a cooler with ice and plastic cups are provided - you bring the beverage of your choice and name your own "Shamrocktails."
